What we store

Without an account, your learning progress lives only in your browser's local storage — it never reaches our servers.

With an account, we store: your email address, an encrypted (hashed) password if you use one, your optional name, your onboarding answers (test date, confidence, focus areas), and your learning progress (lessons, quizzes, road signs, hazard training and mock test results). This exists for one purpose: syncing your progress across devices.

Payments

Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — we only store your subscription status (e.g. trialing, active, lifetime) so the product knows what you've unlocked.

Analytics and error monitoring

We use product analytics (PostHog) to understand which features help learners — events like 'lesson completed' or 'mock test taken'. We use error monitoring (Sentry) to find and fix crashes. Neither is used to build advertising profiles, and we never sell data to anyone.

Other services we share data with

If you choose 'Continue with Google', Google handles the sign-in and we receive your email address and name to create or match your account.

We send transactional and occasional product emails through Resend, which processes your email address to deliver them. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link.

These providers act as our data processors under agreements that restrict them to providing the service.

Your choices

You can use LicenceOS without an account at any time. From your account page you can download a full copy of your data at any moment, and delete your account outright — deletion immediately removes your account, progress and subscription records (Stripe retains transaction records as the law requires). You can also contact us for help with any data request.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and local storage for your progress and preferences. No third-party advertising cookies.
